The very first victim on Social Media of wicked woman Sharmini Serasinghe was Poorna Chathura Wickremasinghe. He paid the price with his job and Sharmini Serasinghe fabricated whole lot of lies about him and his organization he worked and made him to resign.
The banter started as follows.
4 years ago Sharmini Serasinghe has wrote this figment story on Colombo Telegraph.
Sharmini Serasinghe writes,
"Furthermore, by paying homage to a Bo tree, you Mr. President are also openly violating the teachings of the Buddha, who denounced the worship of objects! "
Every Buddhist temple in the island nurtures a Bo tree as one of the three sacred objects that every temple is proud of. And this is in fact Sri Maha Bodhi Sharmini Serasinghe is referring, which is a branch of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi at Buddha Gaya in India under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and only surviving branch of the original Bodhi tree and is thus famous as an object of religious worship, as well as being the oldest recorded tree in the world. Pilgrims from all over the world come to worship this sacred tree and Sharmini Serasinghe says The president is giving a wrong example by worshiping a mere tree.
By constitution the President of Sri Lanka is bound to give the priority to Buddhism and if and only if he's a Buddhist he can hold the Presidentship. Poorna asked this question 4 years ago on Twitter, asking Sharmini Serasinghe why she writes nonsense even without having a proper idea about the constitution.
Sharmini Serasinghe didn't respond this tweet back then, But all of a sudden she responded this on December 12th, 2018.
The false news incident Poorna questioned here is as follows: In early December, 2018, Sharmini Serasinghe circulated a post on Facebook saying that she has rescued a locked dog with the help of Police officers and the Former first lady Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa has called the Police and demanded immediate transfer of all the police officers who have helped her to rescue the dog. The accused party has denied all the accusations made by Sharmini Serasinghe and further they lodged police complain against Sharmini Serasinghe for spreading false news.
As soon as Poorna asked this question: “Where in Buddhist philosophy you foll0w mentions about spreading false news? Like you did few days back dragging a dog?” Sharmini Serasinghe completely lost her nerves and started blasting at Poorna saying He's a Rajapaksa supporter. Sharmini Serasinghe has started blasting Poorna using utter filth. The issue started with a matter over Sri Maha Bodhi but she has dragged this to Political angle. While failing to justify her fake post, all she did was labeling Poorna Chathura as a “narcissist”, “Brainless twit”, “coward” and specifically a Rajapaksa supporter. She later deleted her abusive tweets but we do have screenshots of Tweet IDs
Though Sharmini Serasinghe was trying to label Poorna Chathura as a Rajapaksa supporter, He was once blocked by @PresRajapaksa twitter account for questioning things that he felt not right with President Rajapaksa's administration. As soon as someone generally asks a question about someone’s opinion, it doesn’t make him a supporter of anyone. Later the Social Media team of the President Rajapaksa has apologized and unblocked Poorna Chathura.
Then Sharmini Serasinghe has challenged Poorna Chathura to meet her in person, which he denied. If someone to meet all these people who make counter arguments on Social Media, they would be doing nothing other than meeting all these people. But Sharmini Serasinghe's is such mentally disabled person.
Then Sharmini Serasinghe took this Twitter incident to Facebook. Sharmini Serasinghe has taken pictures of Poorna Chathura's Facebook account and LinkedIn account and posted on Facebook.
As Sharmini Serasinghe was posting Poorna's photos on Facebook without his consent, he has reported those photos to Facebook using the general report options provided by Facebook and Facebook has taken down those photos as it was clear violation of their community standards. But Sharmini Serasinghe interpreted this as Poorna hacked her Facebook account, Google account and even her bank accounts.
Poorna Chathura Wickremasinghe worked as an Information Security Analyst for Sri Lanka CERT. Sharmini Serasinghe has dragged all of these points and started accusing him for things he has never done and defame the organization he worked
Then Sharmini Serasinghe started accusing Poorna Chathura saying that he deletes Facebook content on behalf of Facebook Inc.
Poorna Chathura worked for Sri Lanka CERT, not for Facebook Inc. Only Facebook Inc can delete Facebook content and no 3rd party has given permission for content moderation. Sharmini Serasinghe's posts got deleted as it was a clear violation of Facebook community standards. Explaining this to Sharmini Serasinghe is a mere lost cause as this crazy woman has herself recently started a petition against Facebook saying that Rajapaksa supporters in Facebook Inc don't remove the content she's reporting.
Sharmini Serasinghe didn't stop her false accusations against Poorna Chathura there, then She started accusing him for blocking United National Party's (UNP) official Facebook page. No one can block Facebook pages as they will and imagine the seriousness of the accusation she was making against Poorna Chathura. She even started tagging UNP ministers on Social Media which let serious concerns on life safety of Poorna.
Sharmini Serasinghe took this false accusations to a level where she branded Poorna Chathura as the one who controls Facebook content in Sri Lanka. Sharmini Serasinghe even accused his organization without knowing anything. All these started because Poorna Chathura asked a question on her article 4 years ago and Sharmini Serasinghe dragged that matter to political and made him to resign from his job. Making a one to lose his job is a severe sin. Nobody knows how he eats, cares his family afterwards. Over a trivial matter, Sharmini Serasinghe accused Poorna Chathura with a mountain of lies for a week and even got his Twitter account seized. Sharmini Serasinghe will reap the consequences of her actions in this lifetime or next life times to come. Sharmini Serasinghe's false accusations stopped only after Poorna Chathura posted the following.
